The Wellington Papers are a band from New York City. Their eclectic and often genre-bending sound is the natural result of growing up in a place as diverse and dynamic as Gotham. Veterans of the city’s various high and low social and cultural scenes, the Papers spin tales of late night adventure, loves won and lost, and the restless energy of the city after dark.
The Papers’ revolving lineup features hip hop producers, blues screamers, film composers, punk fanatics, classically trained musicians, metalheads, jazz cats and a handful of wicked drummers with a Latin jazz pedigree. It’s a collective that absorbs and reflects the electrifying cultural clashups that define life in New York City.

First, we’re bringing out Cheeseburger, a kick-ass Brooklyn band that you may know as singers of the Superjail! theme song on Adult Swim. Then, we’re throwing in Mick’s Jaguar and the Live Ones, to sweeten the deal. And THEN, we’re adding some of the best local Brooklyners around to show, sample and sell their fine wares to you: My Friend’s Mustard, EASTERN DISTRICT, bkbooth!, and a bunch of local vintage retailers to get you ‘fitted up right. And did we mention $4 Brooklyn Brewery lagers, and special menu items?
Plus, there will be special premieres of Superjail! and a sneak peek at the latest installment of Pitchfork 3D!
Local X Local, presented by Brooklyn Brewery, is Brooklyn Bowl’s free monthly show series that celebrates Brooklyn’s best music, food, beer, art, and media. The May LXL will feature $4 Brooklyn Brewery Lagers, and all the best local stuff you can get your hands/mouth/ears on.
